inform\u00f3 este mi\u00e9rcoles que la coloraci\u00f3n verde observada recientemente en la presa de Hatillo se debe a una floraci\u00f3n de algas, seg\u00fan el levantamiento t\u00e9cnico realizado por sus especialistas junto a personal del Parque Nacional Aniana Vargas.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n se inici\u00f3 tras una denuncia recibida en redes sociales, donde comunitarios reportaron t\u00e9cnicos confirmaron la presencia de algas verde-azules (cianobacterias) del g\u00e9nero Microcystis, un organismo que suele proliferar en climas c\u00e1lidos y en cuerpos de agua dulce con alta carga de nutrientes.Las floraciones, tambi\u00e9n conocidas como \u2018blooms\u2019, son procesos que se caracterizan por el incremento sostenido de plantas acu\u00e1ticas y microalgas.<\/p>\n<figure Ambiente, ocurren cuando existe un exceso de nutrientes, principalmente f\u00f3sforo y nitr\u00f3geno, lo que provoca un crecimiento acelerado de estos organismos y genera un desequilibrio en el ecosistema. Estas condiciones pueden causar cambios en el color del agua, malos olores, reducci\u00f3n del ox\u00edgeno y, en algunos casos, la producci\u00f3n de toxinas.<\/p>\n<p>La instituci\u00f3n explic\u00f3 que las floraciones de algas son fen\u00f3menos comunes en lagos tropicales y que, en el caso de Hatillo, suelen presentarse durante la sequ\u00eda estacional. Este a\u00f1o, la ausencia de crecidas extraordinarias del r\u00edo Yuna ha reducido el movimiento natural del agua, lo que impide el arrastre de la biomasa acumulada y favorece su concentraci\u00f3n en el embalse.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio de Medio Ambiente incluy\u00f3 mediciones de calidad de agua, an\u00e1lisis microsc\u00f3picos y entrevistas con guardaparques. Los resultados mostraron niveles elevados de clorofila a un indicador de la cantidad de algas y coincidieron con el comportamiento observado en las \u00faltimas semanas.<\/p>\n<figure
